Why? Because with every bite of food people put into their mouth, they feel guilty and afraid of gaining weight or eating poison. Confused by jargon which, by law, pretends to disclose what additives, preservatives and enhancers are lurking in food, the consumer needs a PhD in nutrition to make sense of it all. Eat this, don't eat that, blah blah...

The Simple Truth Is ...
When you are hungry, you want to eat now. When you are not hungry
you don't want to think about food. You don't want to think about what you are going to eat later because when you are not hungry you don't yet know what your body will want to eat later. Many of my foody friends who kindly invite me over for lunch discuss over lunch what they are going to have for supper! Give us a break please. Food is for eating, not for thinking or talking or even writing about. I can say only two thing about food: If it ain't live (as in fresh fruit and veg), don't eat it. If it's sick (as in meat), don't eat it. That is the last thing you'll hear from me about food on this blog.

No Tentalising Food Pics Here
Once we detach the entire food issue from weight problems, we have taken the first step in a slimming direction. You will learn about the digestive cycle and how to get fit inside your body as well as on the outside. Then you will learn to increase your movement vocabulary to make you more supple, stronger and happier by sheer movement power.

On this mind blowing journey you will discover how friendly, fragile yet strong, and fascinatingly clever you and your body are when you two work together. With a heightened awareness and improved fitness through My Weight loss Tips and Tricks, you will be in a better position to shed all that extra weight.

Where do I Start?
By the way... Whatever your exercise practice entails, and whatever your favourite method is, the basic structure of any workout session must be
adhered to for guaranteed success. The basic structure of a workout session comprises the following:

Environment (the space to move)

Mirror or Video (the visual awareness of your body)

Clothing (comfort in what you wear)

Ventilation (fresh air)

Breathing and Timing

Warm Up

Content (which exercise routine is for you?)

Relaxation

Recovery

Points 6 (Warm Up) and and 8 (Relaxation at the end of an exercise session) are usually respected in most dance and fitness classes. Unfortunately the remaining points above are often ignored by professional institutions like gyms and fitness clubs where people come in dressed in their latest fitness attire and trainers to compete, judge, compare and, if lucky, to socialise without the least concern about
what their bodies have to say about it all.

Your Feet As Prime Weight Bearers

Thet feet are the prime weight bearers of your body throughout its challenging life time and deserve some special attention before any attempt at improving fitness.Your feet are the very foundation of your body structure. Do we really need those, or could they cause damage by weakening our feet? Yet intrinsically there is nothing wrong with body fat as long as it is not excessive and well proportioned. Fat is not evil, it is not to be feared. Fat is comfortable and cuddly and has many useful purposes.

What is the function of fat?
Fat serves to maintain body temperature and to provide padding, protection and support. A mother's belly stays fat after she gives birth because her baby needs this soft cushion to lie on while she is breast feeding. That is, if the mother feeds her baby sitting on a chair. But if she
lies down on her side to feed the baby, her belly will soon go away.

Protection
Fat also protects the precious marrow containing bones. Fat is a safety device acquired by the body so that if you accidentally fall over you will not so easily break your bones. A fit muscle contracts (becomes hard and bouncy) on impact. The bone is then safe. If, however, a muscle is so weak that it is not resilient and bouncy enough to protect the underlying bone from possible damage, then the body has to resort to the next best form of padding: fat tissue.

The padding quality of fat also helps those who are less fit to support their body parts when stuck in static positions for too long, like sitting on chairs. People whose movement vocabulary is small, who don't use many muscles, often grow cushions of fat to be more comfortable.

How do you get rid of fat?
Unused muscles are very easy beds for fat to grow on. Fat doesn't like change. Fat is harder than relaxed muscle. Fat is lazy, static and prefers not to be reminded of itself. Muscles can be toned up. Fat can't move, but it can disappear. The friendly body's first instinct is to be comfortable. It is therefore not going to keep a cumbersome lump of fat on a spot where it is in the way of a pleasant movement or a new, more comfortable position. As you learn to vary your positions more, new muscles you never knew you had tone up in places where the fat is no longer needed. It humbly retreats, to be absorbed and rejected by the body quite naturally.

No Need for Abs Workouts
So you see, there is no need for endless abs workouts when you can find your six pack ready and waiting under that big belly which has never had a chance to move properly!

Well that's enough "food" for thought for this post. Let me know what you think and I'll be back soon with my unusual, slightly radical but always effective Weight loss Tips and Tricks to help you change your shape while staying in a good mood.

The Digestive System

What happens inside your body when you swallow a bite of food? Did you know that eating is hard work for your system? This post is about the digestive system....
Later on we shall look into tackling weight problems in a new way. With increased body awareness you increase your day to day movement vocabulary until you become such a good mover, you'll feel like a dancer among the crowds. And what about losing the weight? As you . . .
become a better mover, the weight humbly retreats.

What is Movement Vocabulary? - may skip paragraph
Movement Vocabulary is the number of moves available at one's disposal for physical expression. Movement vocbulary in movement language is akin to verbal vocabulary in the spoken language. While being an extortionist doesn't necessarily make some one a good mover, good alignment, posture, flexibility, balance, coordination, agility, grace, strength and timing are the grammar of movement language. An icreased awareness of body movements makes a person more physically intelligent. But that's another post. First, we are going to meet your digestive system. Come with me and watch this video.

Now don’t be repulsed

If you are in the slightest interested in your own body, then you must take a look inside. Try, as you watch this video, to imagine that it is a journey inside your own body.

The inside of your body is incredibly beautiful and clever. Everything works coherently together to give you the best out of life. Why should that repulse you? Especially since your insides are the most important part of yourself.

What are your impressions of the video?

It takes many hours and a lot of energy to digest food. The body likes to be at rest while food is being digested. You cannot be physically active on a full stomach, hence the siesta in Southern countries.

Full of crap?

I've often wondered what the substance is that makes a pot belly. You know, those that hang over the belt. OK so there is a considerable layer of fat on top; you can pinch and feel that. But underneath the layer of fat, there is more bulge inside the belly which makes some men look like they are 12 months pregnant. What is that stuff? Well, as we have just learned from the above video, the large intestine takes the water out and turns undigested food into feaces. Now you can draw your own conclusions.

When to Eat or not to Eat

The "Sneaky Fast Plan" tells you exactly when to eat or not to eat. For the time being, it suffices to say that :
An overfed, stagnant body that never moves much is going to become very unsatisfied. Not aware enough to identify the real cause of its discomfort, the food-addicted body is not sure why it is feeling unsatisfied and attempts to appease the vague sense of ‘want’, of feeling ‘empty’, by sneaking to the refrigerator, the chocolate box or the drinks cabinet for unnecessary, even harmful nourishment. This cycle not only makes you fat, it also creates guilt, harms your self-esteem, can give you indigestion, piles, candida, colonitis, or stomach ulcers, make you obese, anorexic or even bulimic. You may think you are unable to change, but change is waiting just around the corner.

Change is Life
A common misconception about the body is that it cannot change. By instinct, your friendly body always tries to feel better. Another delusion is that moving is tiring. On the contrary, good movement is reviving. Sitting perched on an office chair for eight hours a day is more tiring than a mixed variety of recommended revitalizing stretches, breathing routines and good movements.

That's it for now but I shall be back shortly with more Weight Loss Tips and Tricks. Meanwhile, let us know what has worked for you by leaving a constructive comment.
